The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is warning parties who make regulatory fee payments to be aware of non-government websites posing as conduits for payments to the Commission.

The FCC has reportedly received complaints that some parties are using fraudulent Internet sites to misdirect those seeking to submit their regulatory fee payments. These non-government websites are reportedly attempting to collect additional financial information from unsuspecting visitors.

The Commission has referred the complaints to the Inspector General for further investigation, but warns regulatory fee payers to make any on-line payments only through the Commission’s authorized website at www.fcc.gov/feefiler.
