The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has updated its webpage on established test procedures and energy conservation standards for ceiling fans and for ceiling fan light kits.

The webpage, which was revised in November 2007, provides manufacturers with extensive and up‑to‑date information on federal standards and test procedures that are applicable to the popular household fixture, consistent with DOE requirements that became effective on January 1, 2007.

In addition to providing helpful links to applicable documents, the webpage also has an extensive “frequently asked questions” section, as well as copies of “interpretative guidance” letters issued by the DOE.

Our readers can view the DOE’s updated ceiling fan webpage at this link.
